Minorities
This is my attempt to show that most people do belong to some minority group one way or another like:
3%, vegetarian.
• 5% partly vegetarian - not eating some types of meat or fish.

The
just-released “Vegetarianism in America” study, published by Vegetarian
Times (vegetariantimes.com), shows that 3.2 percent of U.S. adults, or
7.3 million people, follow a vegetarian-based diet. Approximately 0.5
percent, or 1 million, of those are vegans, who consume no animal
products at all. In addition, 10 percent of U.S., adults, or 22.8
million people, say they largely follow a vegetarian-inclined diet.

OK. The figures are: About 3% full vegetarians plus 5-10 part vegetarians.

Here goes the first minority

Homosexuality? My guess is about 5%
third minority
3)
----------------------------------------------------------------
One
of the most established and accepted left handed statistics is that the
population of left-hander’s is 13%. This varies slightly over time, but
it is widely regarded as a true reflection

fourth minority

tobacco smokers
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/hea_tob_tot_adu_smo-health-tobacco-total-adult-smokers
about 30% on average
fifth minority
5)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 41% of Finnish citizens responded that "they believe there is a God".
- 41% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force".
- 16% answered that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force".

sixth minority are the non-believers but even Christians are a minority since only 41% believe in god
6)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The total annual consumption of pure alcohol was about 10.45 liters per inhabitant in 2008.
· One tenth of the population drinks nearly half of all the alcohol consumed.
· The share of women's consumption in the overall alcohol consumption has increased.
· About a fifth of men and about 10% of women who drink alcohol exceed the safe-use guidelines.
· Alcohol is mostly consumed on the weekends.
· Becoming intoxicated has remained the central characteristic of Finnish drinking habits.
seventh minority alcoholics
7)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7.8% of the population—have diabetes.
http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/diabetes-statistics/
8)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Close to 20 percent of children in Finland do not live with both parents

9)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Statistics on snoring are often contradictory, but at least 30% of
adults and perhaps as many as 50% of people in some demographics snore
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoring
10)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets do the counting. We start with 100 people
41% believe in god. So we have now only 59 people left
5% of them smoke cannabis ( I don't even count that almost half have tried cannabis in their life )
Now we have only 56,05 people left
5% are gay
Now we have 53,25 people left
10% are alcoholics
Now we have only 48 people left
13% are left handed
Now we have only 42 people left
7.8% have diabetes
Now we have 38,5 people left
Children who live with one parent only or single parents. About one in 5 or more
Now we have only 30 people left
At least one in 3 people snores
Now we got only 20 people left
About 3% are vegetarians and about 30% smoke tobacco
Now we have 13,3 people left
5% are extreme right wing
12,654 people left
There are further minorities who believe in some or all of the next categories:
Believe in: Angels, UFOs, ghosts, Hell, afterlife
11)
10 people left?At most
Depressive disorders?
12)
9 people left
---------------------------------------------------
Depressive disorders affect approximately 18.8 million American adults
or about 9.5% of the U.S. population age 18 and older in a given year.
This includes major depressive disorder, dysthymic disorder, and bipolar
disorder

-------------------------------------------------
People can belong to more than just one minority group.
Picture
this: A gay Christian who is left handed, smokes pot is a vegetarian
has diabetes and is an alcoholic and snores at night time. Divorced a
while ago and lives with his 12 years old son.
Impossible? Not really but do you know anybody who does not fit in any of the above minority categories?
The
"majority" of people do not believe in god, are not left handed, have
no diabetes, don't smoke pot, aren't gay, don't snore, are not single
parents, are not extreme right wing, do not believe in UFOs
or
angels or afterlife, don't smoke tobacco, are not having depressive
disorders, are not vegetarians, are not alcoholics etc. In case I
forgot something look at all 12 categories.
So 9 out of 100 at most belong to the majority and therefore are statistically are just one other minority.
