test one: download 1 MB from the Internet, 5 and 10 MB. How long does it take? What web site from?

Watch a Youtube video. What is the lenghts of the video and did it download quicke then its duration? A 5 minute youtube video should take less then 5 minutes on a 1Mb conection

Downloading a zipfile from a quick server. File size = 25,7 megabytes in 3 minutes. Speed was varieting from 200-215 KB site of zip was ( 8,57 megabytes per minute )

I downloaded a 10 mb zipped file with Elisa mokkula in 30* minutes = 1/3 mb per minute. I should have got 4,285 mb per minute because I had a 1Mb connection ( Elisa mokkula )

So Elisa mokkula was 12,87 times slower then it should be downloading a file in zip format. I am not talking of maximum speeds. I just compare Saunalahti ASDL with Elisa mokkula

Find a web site with a quick server and do your test.

My youtube test with Elisa mokkula was even worse:

15 minutes for mokkula Elisa and 20 seconds Saunalahti. OK I had a 2 Mb connection so lets count

20 seconds fits 3 times in a minute = 15x3=45 take in to account my 2Mb speed compared to 1 Mb Elisa mokkula : 45:2=22,5

So Elisa mokkula was 22,5 slower then Saunalahti ADSL on youtube. Again I am not talking of maximum speeds.

*last figure I gave was out of memory. I checked my email I send way back to Elisa. Also I forgot to mention that still later in the evening the download speed of Elisa mokkula dropped even further. It was then at the 1-2 kilo bytes per sec range = 50-100 slower then the average speed a 1Mb ADSL connection would give you.
